Bring the power and mythology of ancient Chinese art to your collection with this distinctive die-cut metal pin inspired by the Winged Dragon, known as the “Stoclet Dragon”, part of the Louvre Abu Dhabi collection.
Dating from approximately 450–250 BCE, this exceptional bronze sculpture was created in Northern China, during the period of the Warring States. With its muscular legs, clawed feet and dynamic wings, the creature appears poised to leap forward. The dragon is a remarkable hybrid, combining the hindquarters of a feline, the forequarters of an alligator, the antlers of a stag and the wings of a bird.
In Chinese symbolism, the dragon has long been associated with good fortune, fertility and the East. The sculpture also reflects the cultural exchanges between ancient China and the peoples of the Central Asian steppes, whose influence contributed to the development of powerful and realistic animal imagery.
Inspired by the striking silhouette and mythical character of the original sculpture, this die-cut metal pin transforms an exceptional work of ancient art into a contemporary collectible. Perfect for jackets, bags or accessories, it makes a distinctive souvenir for lovers of art, mythology and ancient cultures.
