This “static anthropometry of the blue period” by Yves Klein (1928–1962) presents the imprints of the bodies of the artist and his wife Rotraut. It is a kind of “primitivist” self-portrait of the couple, taking us back to the first man and woman. Imprints combining a male and a female body are rare in Klein’s work.
