Inspired by the celebrated Basin known as the “Baptistery of Saint Louis”, this elegant A6 notebook features a detail from one of the finest examples of Mamluk metalwork in the Louvre collection.

Created in Syria or Egypt around 1330–1340 and signed by Muhammad ibn al-Zayn, the basin is richly decorated with engraved figures, animals and intricate patterns, enhanced by inlays of silver, gold and black paste.

Despite its name, the basin was not made for Saint Louis. It later entered the French royal collections and was used as a baptismal font for members of the French royal family, giving the object a remarkable history connecting the Islamic world with European royal heritage.

A refined and practical keepsake inspired by the Louvre Abu Dhabi collection, perfect for notes, sketches and everyday ideas.
