Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), painter, draughtsman and engraver, is one of Japan’s greatest and most influential artists.
He renewed the art of engraving with his famous works as « Under the wave off Knagawa » which is the first in a series of printsentitled Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji published between 1831 and 1833.
